World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day

8 May 2024

Come celebrate the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement's birthday!

To mark the 161st anniversary of World Red Cross Red Crescent Day, we're inviting you to take a plunge into the humanitarian adventure with two activities, one for adults and the other for children.

Young visitors are invited to join Isabelle and Giorgia, two facilitators from the proPhilo association, for a visit accompanied by a philosophical discussion in French. Supervised by a guide, the children will share a moment of discovery in the ‘Humanitarian Adventure’ exhibition to answer the question ‘What is human dignity? Information and registration here.

At the same time, join our young volunteer guide Anook, who will take you on a journey through the life of the founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross. From the creation of the world's largest humanitarian organisation to a life of seclusion, who was Henry Dunant? Come and find out in our permanent exhibition, as we take you on a journey through his actions and works. For more information, click here.

  • On this day, you can also take advantage of a reduced admission ticket for CHF 10 instead of CHF 15, and come and discover our different exhibitions. It's also an opportunity to do a good deed, as the purchase of a ticket equals a ticket that will be donated to the Geneva Red Cross and other local partners. These tickets will then be distributed to the beneficiaries of these organisations.
