Visit (again) the exhibition TO HEAL A WORLD and the more than 600 photographs from the Red Cross and Red Crescent collections in a unique place

After being presented at the Museum from November 2021 to April 2022, the exhibition “To Heal a World” can be visited at the Rencontres de la Photographie d’Arles throughout the summer.

Humanitarian images are omnipresent in the news and have been part of our daily lives for over a century. It often seems immediate and univocal. The photograph frames a scene and offers an interpretation. We think we understand everything about an event without even thinking about the off-screen. But the reality on the ground is always more complex than its representation, which is necessarily fragmentary.

The exhibition is co-produced in partnership with the Rencontres de la photographie d’Arles. It is drawn from the collections of the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (ICRC), the International Museum of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (MICR) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

Head of project: Pascal Hufschmid, Executive Director at the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum
