Round Table - “Don’t Keep, Just Music”

Do we all perceive object collections the same way?

Tuning In - Acoustique de l’émotion explores the sound archives of the ICRC and IFRC, while delving into our broader relationship with sound, voice, archives, and humanitarian action.

For this second round table, the museum welcomes Grant Mitchell and Sarah-Joy Maddeaux, archivists for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, as well as Catarina Fernandes, a student at the Geneva School of Business Administration. Together, they will discuss the work of archivists, the digitisation of archives, and the artistic reinterpretation of archival material.

This discussion, moderated by Elisa Rusca, will challenge the very concept of archives by examining their characteristics and what gives them value. Do we all perceive collections of objects in the same way? What criteria are used in archival practices, and how can new ones be imagined?

Join us on Wednesday, 12 February, at 6 PM at the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum for the round table discussion, followed by an informal chat at the HINNIVU café!

Practical Information:
