Temporary exhibition
Mapping My Way to drifter memories
19.03.2026 18:00-19:30
In the frame of the exhibition Angelica Serech, the Museum organises “Mapping My Way To…”, a series of performative events focusing on expanding the reflections present in the show around identity, memory, feeling of belonging, the body, and geographies. The first event, Mapping My Way To Borderless Echoes, presented a lecture-performance by Ishita Chakraborty and a sound performance by Nina Emge, exploring real and imaginative relationships between Switzerland, India and Brazil. A trip between the relationships North-South, but also a desire for intimacy and connection through sound and voice.
For this second edition, Mapping My Way To Drifted Memories invites artists Marina Skalova, Ixchel Mendoza Hernández and Hyewon Suk to explore in greater depth the links between the body and memory, proximity and inter-relations.
The evening will begin with Marina Skalova reading a selection of texts about the body, where several linguistic and generational layers overlap. After a short break, Ixchel Mendoza Hernández will present a solo performance, accompanied by Hyewon Suk. Ixchel's work is deeply rooted in the concept of the ‘visual ghost,’ a long-term exploration that examines the interaction between perception and inner virtuality. Through choreography, she explores how we can reconstruct and reshape our perceptual realities.

Ixchel Mendoza Hernández
Ixchel Mendoza Hernández is a Mexican choreographer, performer, and dancer based in Berlin. She graduated in choreography and dance from ArtEZ University of the Arts (Arnhem) and was a participant in the MA SoDA program at HZT Berlin.
Her practice unfolds through the long-term exploration of the Visual Ghost, a conceptual inquiry into perception, inner virtuality, and the subtle boundary between the sensed and the unseen. Through choreography, she engages with how realities are formed, experienced, and continuously reshaped through the body.
She has collaborated with Susanne Kennedy and Markus Selg on the re-staging of Einstein on the Beach (Berliner Festspiele, 2022). Recent works include THE MULTIPLICITY OF THE OTHER (Tanzfabrik Berlin), The Infinite Gesture (Radialsystem), and A Scenario Of A System Off (Radialsystem), supported by the Hauptstadtkulturfonds.
