Petrit Halilaj (Unfinished Histories)

At the heart of our Year of Mental Health, we present a solo show by the artist Petrit Halilaj with a project conceived in 2021 by the Tate St Ives in the United Kingdom that is readapted in Geneva. As a child, the artist lived through the war in Kosovo and produced several drawings during the conflict, while he was accompanied by a child psychiatrist in a refugee camp. Year later and with an artistic practice, he rediscoversed his drawings and adapted them into a large immersive installation that questions collective and individual memory. By sharing a sensitive and personal account of a major conflict of the 20th century, we wish to contribute to a collective reflection on mental health and resilience.
